Rivera Cuale,
unlike any other
Over the last few years, Puerto Vallarta has experienced a construction boom that saw condominiums being built all around the bay, along the mountain sides and the beaches. Only one developer saw fit to offer an alternative: Rivera Cuale.
This development enjoys the protection of an imposing canyon wall covered in lush vegetation on one side, while on another; it is surrounded by the cobblestone streets, shops and little houses of one of the oldest neighborhoods of town – the “real” Mexico. As beautiful as those two aspects are, the third side is really the focus: the River Cuale, the same that separates the “Old Town” from the Romantic Zone on the south side.
My friend expressed the desire to visit the site after hearing me speak of all its environmentally-conscious aspects. Having never seen any of its model units, I decided to accompany him. What can I say? I know that there are those who prefer to be right on the beach, listening to the sound of the waves lapping on the shore at night, while others opt for a breathtaking view of the entire bay from up on a hill. After all, it’s different strokes for different folks… so they say. But if I were ready to move into a condo, Rivera Cuale would be my first choice, no doubt about it. You may ask why, and I can understand that.
I have lived in Puerto Vallarta for nearly 15 years now, and the location of this particular development offers nearly everything I love about this town: the unbelievably beautiful, breathtaking views, the natural sounds of birds and crickets (as well as donkeys and roosters at times), and the one I enjoy most of all: the song of the river as it rushes to the ocean. Added to this complex’ numerous attractions is the fact that it’s really close to our famous beaches, market places, the Isla Cuale, and downtown’s restaurants and galleries, yet just far enough away to avoid the noise, hustle and bustle of it all. There are carts to transport those who prefer not to walk downtown, plus, there’s 24-hour security …and this is a pet-friendly complex!
I also admire the vision of internationally-renowned KMD Architects regarding this project. (They have realized mega projects throughout the U.S., in Spain, and in Mexico.) Together with the developers, they are have proven to be truly environmentally conscious, even to recycling old tires to shore up the spectacular river walk that hugs the complex. It’s no wonder. Along with KMD, Grupo Zeiba – the project’s developers – has created beautiful, spacious condos, with all the amenities that one would expect, and then some!
Personally, I couldn’t find anything missing in the model unit we visited, on the contrary. The materials used throughout are in the best of taste, the areas are bright, the décor superb, and there are too many extras to list! You really have to see it yourself to appreciate it all. And you can choose the views you prefer to enjoy from the comfort of your terraces – the mountains that reach all the way to the eastern horizon, the town, the bay, the canyon, or any combination thereof… Swimming pools, lush endemic flora, manicured gardens, etc.
Just so you should not think that my opinion is biased, I should mention that a respected organization called Americas Property Awards, in association with CNBC and The New York Times, has awarded Rivera Cuale with its Five Stars as the Best Development Mexico, another Five Stars as Best Apartment Mexico, and Four Stars as Best Architecture (multiple units) Mexico.
Phase A of the development will be ready this August – two whole months AHEAD of schedule! How rare is that nowadays? And they’ve already sold half of the units in it! There are three type of units: One-bedroom, 1- ½ baths, starting at $169K, contemporary 2-bedroom + den, 2 bath ones starting at $295K and more traditional 3-bedroom + den ones that go for $339K and up, depending on your whims and finishing preferences.
The Rivera Cuale folks will do more to please their buyers than most I’ve heard of. They will even have property management experts ON SITE. That’s a major convenience if you expect to be away from PV for extended periods of time.
If you think you would like this type of living arrangement as much as I did, then I recommend you visit Rivera Cuale. Tel.: 223-3770. You can also check out their web site before you do, at www.riveracuale.com
